Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 7th HOPE Congress, which will take place in Munich from November 3 to 7, 2010.

The objective of this congress is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of best practice in the cooperation between medical, educational and other professionals for the benefit of children and young people with medical needs. Schools in hospital and comparable educational entities have a special role and responsibility within the education system. It will also present new developments in medical science and educational frameworks and how they translate into our daily practice.

The European Union is contributing to the congress within the framework of its Lifelong Learning Programme with a financial grant. This year's motto is combating social exclusion. We all know that serious health crises - physical and mental crises - can result in exclusion for children and adolescents. The EU's general aim is, of course, to facilitate equal living conditions throughout the European countries - especially for its young citizens.

We are honored and delighted that Mrs Eva Luise Köhler, wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, has assumed the patronage of the congress.

As in the past we expect participants to come to the congress from all over Europe as well as from other continents. That will give everybody present an exceptional chance to share knowledge, interests and to network both professionally and socially.
