Dear friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to welcome you to the 9th Congress of HOPE (Hospital Organization of Pedagogues in Europe). The P.A.V.E.L. Association (Getting Help the Life is Bright) and the Association of Teachers and Educators working in Hospitals (Romanian network of the Professionals in the field of Hospital School), in cooperation with Romanian Ministry of National Education and University of Bucharest, are honored to host the next edition of the HOPE Congress.

Project managers, health professionals, educators, learners, play or art therapists, practitioners or volunteers around Europe and around the world are invited to participate in sessions and workshops in the field of education. This congress will focus on improving outcomes for children and youngsters with chronic and serious illnesses. The congress will be held in Bucharest, Romania, on the 4th – 8th of November 2014.
The main theme of the Congress is “Together for a better education of sick children and adolescents. Preparing pedagogues to work in a multidisciplinary team in hospitals”. The main objective is bringing together the efforts and skills of children and youngsters with serious somatic and mental diseases, their families, teachers and health professionals during cognitive, emotional and personal development processes.

Focusing on continuity of education and the social/emotional impacts for children and youngsters with serious illness the congress will provide information based on the latest concerns, research, challenges and strategies to improve educational programs and interventions for children, families and practitioners in education.

The 2014 Congress is a great opportunity to share ideas, expertise and to build constructive partnerships between practitioners at national, regional and international levels. Keynotes, breakouts and networking opportunities with professionals in the fields of Pedagogy, Psychology, Education, Management and Health will be available throughout the congress.
